Thank YOU for a Successful Spring Cup

Congratulations to NOSHOK and Rionero Sannitico Recreational Club for securing the competitive and recreational division “SCORES Cup Champion” titles at the 2012 Spring SCORES Cupon March 10 at Cleveland State University’s Krenzler Field.

Thank you to all of our corporate sponsors and their team representatives for making the tournament a huge success. The Spring Cup raised $11,500 which includes $225 from our official SCORES Cup after-party at Becky’s Bar & Grill! All monies raised benefit America SCORES’ after-school soccer and poetry programs. Teams and sponsors include: Assist to Succeed dental school, Becky’s Bar & Grill, Benesch LLC, Cuddle Monkeys (KeyBank), CSU Alumni, Force Soccer Academy, Jones Day, Medical Mutual, NOSHOK, Ohio Savings Bank, PJ McIntyre’s Irish Pub, Progressive Insurance, Rionero Sannitico Recreational Club, Team FCU (CDPH), and Ulmer & Berne.

Poet-athletes and parents from Buhrer Dual Language School in Tremont also joined in on the fun by playing two exhibition soccer games against America SCORES Cleveland staff. Since score is not kept during elementary school games, there’s no telling who came out on top (but we’re guessing that our poet-athletes’ skills edged out the staff).

We are getting SO excited for the SCORES Cup next Saturday, March 10 at CSU’s Krenzler Field.  We’re happy to announce that we have recruited four competitive teams and eight recreational teams - Cuddle Monkeys (KeyBank), CSU Alumni, Force Soccer Academy, NOSHOK, Benesch LLC, Team FCU (CDPH), Jones Day, Ohio Savings Bank, Ulmer & Berne, Medical Mutual, Rionero Sannitico Recreational Club, and Progressive Insurance!

New this year, we engaged several local companies as event sponsors.  The SCORES Cup fields will be sponsored by Benesch and Starbucks.  Three of our four goals will be sponsored by PJ McIntyre’s Irish Pub, Becky’s Bar & Grill, and Assist to Succeed dental school.

In addition to sponsoring a goal, Becky’s Bar & Grill will be donating 20% of all sales on March 10^th  to SCORES.  They will be OPEN at Noon and are the “Official SCORES Cup After-party”!  So please consider stopping in for a drink after you play or even ordering your lunch from Becky’s that day.
